Because Democracy is NOT a Spectator Sport

The League of Women Voters of the Oberlin Area, the only League in Lorain County, is a nonpartisan political organization that promotes informed and active participation in government. We welcome members from the entire county.

In 2020 we commemorate the Centential of Women's Suffrage!

Please explore our Universal Suffrage page for a short history of amendments and laws that have brought us closer to universal suffrage. The struggle continues but we celebrate the steps we've taken.

Thanks to the National Park Service for this list of "20 Women to Know for 2020". You will be impressed with the variety of people on this list.

As you scroll this home page you will see a growing list of scheduled events many of which will highlight the suffrage struggle.
